Yes I Do Marketing
When I first became an authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant in 2008, at first I was intimidated by the prospect of building my celebrancy business with such an influx of competition all at once. Where there were just under 3,500 Commonwealth registered marriage celebrants in 2003, this figure jumped to over 10,000 by April 2010. This doesn’t include the 23,700 or so ministers of religion, registered by State and Territory registering authorities to solemnise marriages. For many reasons I’ve listed in the book, I decided to do something about sharing what I know about marketing with my fellow Celebrants. Marketing Made Easy for Celebrants is the result.
Launching 1 July 2010.
Marketing Made Easy for Celebrants will help you craft and implement your own marketing strategies at low cost and low risk. Follow the ideas, tools and advice in this book to:
Buy this book if you are a registered Marriage Celebrant or an Officiant for any of life’s important events – child namings, boat launchings, de facto or same-sex commitments, vow renewals, citizenship ceremonies, coming-of-age celebrations, hand-fastings or even divorce parties. Whatever you specialise in, a good, easy-to-follow marketing plan is essential to your success. With the worksheets and templates included in this book, you can create and action your own marketing plan within minutes. Most of the work is already done for you – all you need to do is watch your business grow with every strategy you put into place.
Normally AUD$39.95 inc postage and handling within Australia. Foreword by Charles Foley CMC, CanberraThis is an excerpt of Charles’ foreword… Here is a book from a most knowledgeable marketing expert who is also a recently appointed Civil Celebrant. Anita has done her research within the craft of celebrancy and has endeavoured to place the rest of us within our special place within the wedding industry, and within the ranks of other performance artists within civil celebrancy. I’ve already begun incorporating her ideas into my own marketing strategy! Anita has written “… times change…” and so they have. ?I started as an Officiant in the USA in 1971, and as a Civil Celebrant in Australia in 1991. Back then there was no Generation X or Generation Y. In fact, until I read this book ?I had only an inaccurate and incomplete idea about how to market myself to my contemporary Baby Boomers, and absolutely no thoughts about the coming Generation Z! If you are a hobbyist Celebrant, or if you are a philanthropist who likes funding the celebrations of others, or if you are in the celebrancy craft for the pure fun of it or for the applause of being a performance artist, then this book may not be for you. But if you like the idea of working smarter not harder; if you want to earn some monetary rewards for your efforts, then pay attention to this easy to read text that is ‘chocka block’ full of practical tips, suggestions and thoughtful strategies. When I sold my own book, Your Guide to Becoming a Successful Civil Celebrant, in the mid 1990s, I guaranteed that if the aspiring Civil Celebrant didn’t make the $ 65 cost of the book back at the first ceremony, after following my directions, then I would refund the full price upon return of the book. No one returned the book ! I can tell you that by using Anita’s suggestions you too will continuously reap the benefits for years to come, just as surely. |
