"Being a celebrant is more than ......much more than whatever we imagined it could be." Rona Goold. As civil celebrants in Australia, our celebrant roles are evolving. New situations arise and celebrants need group wisdom and support. Thus every celebrant is advised to belong to a celebrant association. Each state, except Northern Territory and Tasmania, have celebrant associations. These associations started for only authorised marriage celebrants. Some now accept student celebrants, and non marriage celebrant members. Some have broadened their geographic boundaries. Since 2003, a number of new national associations have developed as support for students and graduates of celebrant training courses and of registered training organisations offering celebrant training. |
