An innovative service called Funeral Finery offers a range of shrouds and sashes specifically designed to reflect the personality of the desceased.

May be used as decoration for coffins.

The garments are used to drape the coffin or casket during the ceremony and are then taken home to be used as a wall hanging, a throw rug or simply to be kept as a treasured keepsake.

Throughout history people have covered and decorated coffins as an expression of their culture, status, beliefs and, themselves. From the early Norwegians to European Royalty to Religious Palls, beautiful fabrics have added dignity, beauty, warmth and relevance to the harshness of a bare coffin, and the sadness of a funeral. Flags depicting a country, the armed forces, a club or organization are regularly seen on a coffin or casket in honour and recognition of the deceased.

Quilters and Quilts have played a significant role in telling social, cultural and personal histories, including the making of Mourning and Passing Quilts. Using materials and even objects that belonged to a loved one, they have soothed the grieving and become a time-honoured tribute.

Using beautiful fabrics, Funeral Finery brings a modern, practical and more personal concept into funerals, through the Funeral Quilt.
