OPD REMINDER from Marriage Celebrant Section

PDF Print E-mail
88/6947

1 September 2010

Subject: Important information for Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrants who have not yet fulfilled their OPD obligation for 2010

This e-mail is for those Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrants who have not yet fulfilled their Ongoing Professional Development obligation for 2010.

Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrants are reminded that they must undertake five hours OPD each registration year (1 January - 31 December).

OPD can only be completed through one of the following registered training organisations on the panel of OPD providers:

AssentTECS

Australian Celebrations Training, and

Gordon Institute of TAFE.

Panel members must be contacted directly to organise completion of your OPD obligations.

As OPD must be completed by the end of the year, it is recommended that you contact the OPD providers as soon as possible to arrange your OPD.

Unless you have already received advice from the Marriage Celebrants Section that you do not need to complete OPD in 2010, you are required to fulfil your OPD obligations.

The panel of OPD providers will provide to the Marriage Celebrants Section the details of those marriage celebrants who have completed OPD with them. The Department will ensure these reports are transferred to your records.

Contact details for the panel of OPD providers and the list of 2010 OPD activities, are available from the Ongoing professional development page of the Department's website.
